Turning to photography as a creative outlet during a valiant fight with breast cancer at age 34, [info]renaissance10 survived and set up a photo contest to help raise funds for the Lavender Trust, a nonprofit that provides information and support to younger women with breast cancer. In the first two years, the competition brought in over £65,000 (that's $107,260.73 U.S.!), with entries from 130 countries last year. Renaissance10 recently joined LiveJournal to meet other passionate photographers and find supportive friends.

A Funny from friends...

  • Dec. 20th, 2009 at 10:50 AM
So we were at our friends' daughter's first birthday party at their new house last night. Lots of kids that the wife takes care of in day care, and they have really good rules and boundaries so it was very fun.

The best part? Each kid had a cup with their name on it, and the game was, if each kid had the SAME cup (guess there's lots of waste and losing cups sometimes) by the end of the party, they got to each put their cup into Wall-E (the trash compactor, which most of the kids had never seen before) and push the button. HAH! They talked about Wall-E all evening, it was so cute!
